Textiles

Hydrogen peroxide is undoubtedly the most versatile bleaching agent available to the textile industry. It offers many advantages namely :

• ease of application,

• potential for reducing process times,

• minimisation of effluent problems,

• preservation of the quality of pure and blended textile fibres,

• a high and extremely stable degree of whiteness.





List of applications

Animal fibres Wool and silk are easily bleached with hydrogen peroxide.  
Artificial fibres or regenerated cellulose Fibres produced from regenerated cellulose are easily bleached in mild conditions using H2O2  
Dye Oxidation Certain textile dyes may be "fixed" by hydrogen peroxide  
Synthetic fibres Bleaching of 100% synthetic fibres is not normally required however blends of synthetic with natural fibres are often bleached using hydrogen peroxide.
